Itinerary : Phoolon Ki Holi & Vrindavan Holi Festival Tour

Day 1 : Arrival in Mathura & Exploring Krishna’s Birthplace

Upon arrival in Mathura, the land of Lord Krishna, we begin the tour by visiting the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple, where Krishna was born. This sacred place sets the spiritual tone for the journey. We then explore the Dwarkadhish Temple, one of the most famous temples in Mathura, known for its artistic architecture and vibrant Holi celebrations. Later, we take a serene walk along the Vishram Ghat, where Krishna rested after defeating Kansa, followed by a visit to the Gita Mandir and Birla Temple. By evening, we enjoy the Yamuna Aarti, a mesmerizing sight of floating lamps and chants at the ghats. After soaking in the divine ambiance, we check into our hotel for an overnight stay in Mathura or Vrindavan.

Day 2 : Phoolon Ki Holi & Vrindavan’s Spiritual Festivities

The day begins with a visit to Vrindavan, where the Phoolon Ki Holi (Flower Holi) at Banke Bihari Temple takes place. Unlike traditional Holi, this event is celebrated with fresh flower petals showered upon devotees in a beautiful, divine spectacle. Thousands gather here to witness the temple priests throwing flower petals instead of colors, creating a surreal atmosphere. After this spiritual Holi experience, we visit the ISKCON Temple, where Holi is celebrated through devotional chants and Krishna bhajans.

In the afternoon, we explore the Prem Mandir, a grand temple dedicated to Krishna and Radha, famous for its stunning architecture and light shows. Later, we visit the Radha Vallabh Temple, where Holi is played with sandalwood powder, a unique experience different from the usual color-throwing celebrations. By evening, we return to the hotel for rest, preparing for the exciting Lathmar Holi the next day.

Day 3 : Lathmar Holi in Barsana – A Unique & Playful Celebration

After breakfast, we head to Barsana, Radha’s village, where the famous Lathmar Holi is played. This event reenacts the legendary tradition where women from Barsana playfully beat men from Nandgaon with sticks (lathis), while the men try to shield themselves. This unique celebration takes place at Rangili Gali, where the energy, colors, and folk songs create an electric atmosphere. We also visit the Radha Rani Temple, the only temple dedicated to Radha, before enjoying local delicacies like Thandai, Gujiya, and Makhan Mishri.

By afternoon, we witness cultural performances and Holi rituals at Shri Ji Mandir, where the divine love of Radha and Krishna is celebrated. As the evening sets in, we return to Mathura for an overnight stay.

Day 4 : Nandgaon Holi & Farewell

On the final day, after breakfast, we travel to Nandgaon, Krishna’s village, where the Nandgaon Holi celebrations take place. This is the counterpart to Barsana’s Lathmar Holi, where the men from Barsana visit Nandgaon to play Holi with the women. The entire village comes alive with music, dance, and Krishna bhajans, making it a spiritually uplifting experience. We also visit Nand Bhavan, the childhood home of Krishna, and immerse ourselves in the colorful festivities.

After indulging in local cuisine and experiencing the grandeur of Nandgaon Holi, we return to Mathura. If time permits, we stop at Gokul, another significant town in Krishna’s life, before heading to Mathura Railway Station or Airport for departure. We bid farewell, carrying the memories of this divine and colorful Holi celebration.
